Birthday Card to Teacher Kelly 2014

This was a very back dated post.  Mommy would like to make a log in Shenny's blog.

Teacher Kelly's birthday was in August and that was her school exam period.  However, Shenny managed to squish some free time to design a simple birthday card for her.

Shenny's 8th Birthday

Shenny celebrated her eight year old birthday at home two weeks ago.
She invited eight friends and her three favorite teachers (Ukulele, Piano and Art) to her birthday party.
The following were some activities done in the party:
 
First, Shenny and her bestie Lyn Xuan sang A Thousand Years with piano accompanied by Shenny's piano teacher (Nicole Yap).  A Thousand Year song was initially introduced by Lyn Xuan.  Shenny found the song nice and gradually loved the song too.


Second, Shenny and her piano teacher played duet Beauty and The Beast.  All the guests  surrounded at piano side to listen to this beautiful piece.


Third, Shenny and her bestie Lyn Xuan entertain the crowd by singing A Thousand Years again while Lyn Xuan tried to play the song with ukulele.


Then, they had sometimes to play ukuleles (only those friends know ukulele joined the performance):

Teacher Nicole held a simple birthday celebration with all her kids in music centre two weeks ago.   And Shenny made a special drawing for her on that day too.

On HER 6th birthday

This is backdated post.
Mommy and papa decided to have a very simple birthday celebration on Shenny's actual birthday.  Shenny was given a chance to choose her own birthday cake at a bakery nearby.

*** Do you see any similarity?

Actually, Shenny had already had her birthday celebration few days earlier before her actual birthday. This time, it was bigger one compared to last year. 
Since her party was held in KFC, mommy and papa allowed Shenny to invite 15 friends this time.  As some of her friends brought along their brothers and sisters, so the total of children came to party was 20 persons.  And, Shenny also invited her two lovely music teachers. 
In fact, mommy was a bit panic as this was the first time mommy learn to handle such a big crowd (>40 persons).  Luckily, the whole party events went smoothly as plan. 

Shenny happily greeted her piano teacher to her party.

Shenny was very excited to receive so many presents for the first time. Everything in the picture (except the old keyboard) were her birthday present, includes piano and beautiful pinky satin dress (given by her 1st music teacher, Kelly) (below).

Early Birthday Surprise

This is a big surprise cum early birthday present for little Shenny. 

Papa and mommy plus Shenny went to visit a piano shop with Shenny's piano teacher early June, out of all pianos Shenny tried out, she told papa and mommy that she would like to have "this" model if she got to have one. 
She didn't like rest of pianos, because she felt their keys are not hard enough plus felt like playing keyboard.  She even gave us reason, since she already had a keyboard at home, she didn't want to have another piano feel like keyboard at home.  She was very determine with her choice. 
Even, her piano teacher was amazed with her decision because not many of her students do that especially at her age. Normally, those students would let their parents to decide which piano to buy home.

The piano that Shenny chose was for professional pianist and also the price is not within papa's budget.  So how? Mommy asked papa, what should he decide now?  He told me, if he was to buy the piano, he would consider Shenny's decision as priority.

After pondering for a few days plus her teacher agreed to get us further discount, papa and mommy secretly decided to order this piano as her birthday present, without telling Shenny. The piano got to deliver one week before (25/6/2011) Shenny turns to 6 year old.

In fact, the sound of piano is a bit out, it still needs some tuning after delivery. The person to help tuning is only available after 3 weeks of delivery. However, Shenny still could not wait to play some songs on her new piano.

Gentle Moment

This is a two-month backdated post.

Mommy guessed this was one of best birthday parties Shenny ever attended in the beginning of the year 2011.

Shenny was invited to attend Josiah's birthday party. (Josiah is her classmates since she was a toddler).
At first, mommy did not plan to allow her to attend birthday party because she had her music class to attend.  However, she persuaded really hard and showed her eagerness to go since her best friends Leanne and Qin Yii would be attending too.  Papa was the first one to give in her request, so mommy had no choice.

Shenny definitely enjoyed so much in the birthday party because she get to dance in the birthday party with her friends.  Normally, she dances alone at home.

Initially, children were asked to play "musical chair" game but shortly some girls had disagreement with boys.  Then, the birthday's boy father asked them to dance.  But girls didn't want to dance with boys together.  Both Shenny and Leanne decided to dance in the living room and rest of girls followed.  And, boys danced at car porch.

Shenny, Leanne  and Qin Yii enjoyed dance together inside the house. Then the boys joined in later.

Most of mommies stayed at the birthday party, including mommy. 

While children had fun, mommies could chit-chat around.  

At first, all mommies felt very interesting and fun to see our children dance.  Then we began to worry.

We began to discuss about our kids.  We wonder what they would be like in next 10 years.  

They were only 5 year old and they had begun to dance like adults already. That certainly be more when they reach their teenage ages.  Would we able to cope with it?

Of Papa's Birthday @ 2010

Shenny made a foldable birthday card for her Papa this year.  Mommy didn't help much though.

It was a real surprise to her Papa.  Mommy believed this is the most precious one for his birthday presents so far he ever received from his little one. 
(Hehe, Shenny chose to buy a bottle of papa's favourite hair gel continuously for last two years as his birthday presents.  She just tried to act funny to her papa during that time.)

Before Shenny wrote anything on the card, mommy reminded her that she could only put a positive word in the card. So, wishes were written on her own thought.

Below are the meaning of her wishes:

* have long live - so that Shenny could see her Papa all the time

* have Good health - so that Papa can not be tired when he is at work in his office

* have a lot of muscle - so that Papa can use one hand to carry Shenny and also can carry his mother

* have a Good time - so that Papa can be happy always

Of all the birthday cakes Shenny saw in the bakery shop, she chose the chocolate cake with white icing and many little hearts for her Papa.

Visit Papa's Office

Papa decided to bring Shenny and mommy to visit Tanzini (roof top restaurant - 28 floor) near his office at G-Tower on mommy's birthday.  And papa's office is at this tower too.

Before going to restaurant, Shenny and mommy took this opportunity to visit papa's office. 
Actually, Shenny had been longing to visit papa's office for quite sometime.   Therefore, she was extremely excited when her wish is granted.

From this visit, Shenny found out papa's working environment.  She got the chance to sit at papa's working desk and meet few of papa's colleagues.  However, she found more exciting things in the PANTRY.

Shenny and papa sat at his working desk, pretend to call someone.



Shenny stood next to a soft drink vending machine.

The drinks are complimentary for all staff and they could drink as much as they want.

Shenny wished to get one too. 





Shenny pretended to show her anger when she was not allowed to get the soft drink from the machine.

Shenny said "WOW" when she saw so many chocolate and milk package drinks inside the fridge.  These are complimentary for all staff too.

Haha, Shenny neither got one too.

Shenny leaned against one of walls at pantry.

Shenny found few recycle bins in the pantry. 

She gave a thump up for the good act to care about our earth.

Happy 5th Birthday, Shenny!

Yeah! Shenny is 5 year old today liao.

Papa and mommy celebrated Shenny's birthday at home on last Saturday (3/7/2010).  We had a small party and invited 12 guests to our home.  Who had we invited to Shenny's birthday party?

We had invited ah yi's (大姨）family, Hooi Ling (mommy's cousin) aunty's family and Shenny's three best friends (Leanne, Amber and Qin Yii) from her kindy.

Actually, this is the first time mommy held a party at home, mommy was a bit worried whether our small house could occupy so many guests.  Luckily all went well.

Shenny took this opportunity to show her friends her bedroom and some of the games she had at home.  They even bounced on mommy and papa's bed.  They also played some simple games eg. musical chair, blowing balloon and Snap in the living room.

Mommy would just let the photo to tell what's on that day.

Shenny helped mommy to prepare some goodies bags.

These were the food served in the party.  Mostly bought except mommy steamed mini sausages and fish balls.

Shenny was happily chit-chating and eating with her buddies .  Both Leanne (red blouse) and Amber (blue dress) were Shenny's very old buddies. They knew each other since Shenny was 18 month old from funstation nursery.  Now, all of these three friends are in same class.

These were all Shenny's birthday presents.  Papa and mommy had bought her two books: "Wishing Chair Again" and "The 7 Habits of Happy Kids".
