Different Kind of Holiday Fun - Meet Ukulele Masters

Shenny and her Ukulele Sunshine Group headed north to Penang during last March school holiday (28/3/13 - 31/3/13).  Not all the members were able to make it.  However, there were a total of 30 persons to visit Penang this time.
The reason for us to head north was to meet up with Hawaiian Ukulele Master Mr. Kimo Hussey and Taiwanese Ukulele Master Mr. David Chen.  They were invited by Mr. Chew (the owner of Manuel Ukulele) to come to Penang Island to run workshops as well as hold a solo concert at Wawasan Open University.  And, Shenny and her group were given opportunity to perform on the same stage with them too as a pre event concert.

Indeed, this is an exciting trip with lots of knowledge gained from the two Ukulele Masters.
Mommy would like to thank teacher Kelly for organizing this trip and also thanks her for driving us to Penang (4 hours to Penang and 9 hours from Penang).  We had a few cars go to Penang but mommy and Shenny took a lift from teacher Kelly's car.  Papa didn't come with us.

Below are some photos of what we had done in this wonderful trip and definitely this is a memorable holiday trip for Shenny too:

28/3/13 - First day activities -
1 & 2 & 3 -> Quick rehearsal in the hotel room group photos at Wawasan Open University's main entrance
4) Quick blunt for dinner (cookies & cakes) and took dinner / supper later
5 & 6) Performances on stage
7 & 8) group photo with Ukulele Masters, participants and audience

Solo Concert: 1) Mr. Kimo Hussey from Hawaii
2) Mr. David Chen from Taiwan
30/3/13 - Third day activities - Attending Mr. Kimo Hussey's workshops and get autograph from him.
28/313 - 31/3/13 - Various activities -
pool fun, makan makan, ukulele jamming at pool side and inside the hotel room,

Ukulele? May I know what is this mean?

@Sarah's mom: Ukulele is a type of musical instrument which looks like guitar but with 4 strings only. It's originated from Hawaii, suitable play by all walks of life from children to adults (including elderly). It is very easy to learn and handy to carry around. I reckon it brings lots more fun to carry along for travel. You may check out our activities thru youtube by searching with keywords.."Ukulele Sunshine Group" or "Ukulele Sunshine Kids". And if you would like your Sarah to expose into this instrument, we have a workshop coming up this Sunday at Wangsa Maju, please let me know. I will provide you with more details.

Shenny's Mommy, thanks for your explaination about Ukulele.
Yeap, from the word itself, it sounds like from Hawaii, and it indeed Yes.
- I have saw the videos from YouTube. The kids and adults had so much in all the presentation.
And Shenny is really a talent in performing. She has the charm in all the performance.
- Ooo, thanks for the info about this Sunday workshop. But I will be away for Qing Ming.
Do you have the website so that I can refer?
Thanks.

Thanks Shennny's Mommy for the detailed information.
I have checked with Sarah, she seems not so interested towards the group.
Anyway, is nice to know about a new music instrument from you.
