Different Kind of Holiday Fun - Meet Ukulele Masters

Shenny and her Ukulele Sunshine Group headed north to Penang during last March school holiday (28/3/13 - 31/3/13).  Not all the members were able to make it.  However, there were a total of 30 persons to visit Penang this time.
The reason for us to head north was to meet up with Hawaiian Ukulele Master Mr. Kimo Hussey and Taiwanese Ukulele Master Mr. David Chen.  They were invited by Mr. Chew (the owner of Manuel Ukulele) to come to Penang Island to run workshops as well as hold a solo concert at Wawasan Open University.  And, Shenny and her group were given opportunity to perform on the same stage with them too as a pre event concert.

Indeed, this is an exciting trip with lots of knowledge gained from the two Ukulele Masters.
Mommy would like to thank teacher Kelly for organizing this trip and also thanks her for driving us to Penang (4 hours to Penang and 9 hours from Penang).  We had a few cars go to Penang but mommy and Shenny took a lift from teacher Kelly's car.  Papa didn't come with us.

Below are some photos of what we had done in this wonderful trip and definitely this is a memorable holiday trip for Shenny too:

Adeline's Villa

This is another very backdated post too.

Few months ago, Shenny and mommy joint papa department's trip to stay overnight at Adeline's Villa in Gopeng, Perak. Shenny was excited when papa told her that she would have chance to do jungle tracking and to dip in waterfall.

On that day, we woke up very early because we need to meet up papa's other colleagues in Rawang around 8.30am. And then, we would depart together. We need to reach our destination before 12.30pm because our lunch would be served at 12.30pm by the villa's owner, Adeline.

Shenny liked this 2day1night trip because there were more than 20 of papa's colleagues to play with her.  All of them were very nice to her and she could mingle well with them too.

Welcome to Adeline's Villa.
Papa's colleagues queue to get food.
We were arranged to stay in this little cottage,
only 3 of us.

Shenny walked up to check where papa's colleagues stay.
Papa's colleagues stayed in these two cottages
, each accommodated about 12 persons.

Shenny was invited to bounce on bed.

The waterfall we visited.
Cooling herself at waterfall.

The little girl (papa's colleague's daughter) kept on asking Shenny to accompany her to play sea-saw till Shenny felt very tired and boring liao..

Beach Fun With Papa

This was a very backdated post.

We went to Port Dickson few months ago.

The weather was quite hot when we went to a beach.  Both Shenny and papa spent nearly 2 hours (10am-12pm) to have fun on beach while mommy took shade under a tree and helped them to take photo from afar.   Also, took this opportunity to try out our newly bought camera.  The new camera was very good, mommy could zoom in from afar and still able to take their photos clearly.

How did they spend their time on beach?

First, they went for a dip at sea water.

Then, they worked together to build a sand castle.

Tada....their mission completed.....

A BIG Birthday Treat

It had been a month long mommy didn't have time to post any new blog. In fact, this is a backdated post too. It happened in end of April 2011.

Mommy's 2nd brother (Shenny's uncle) invited our family to join 2 day 1 night Star Cruise in Penang on his birthday.  Although Shenny had had some cruise experiences before (especially when she was in The Netherlands) but this was her first time to stay a night on a cruise.  She was especially excited about it.  Thanks for her uncle's generous invitation.
In order to join the cruise, Shenny and mommy took a flight to hometown.  Papa didn't follow along because it was a short notice.
For details, mommy thought just let photos tell it better.

Shenny and mommy took Putera LRT to KL Central.
Shenny concentrated in writing while on our way to airport by KLIA Express Train.

We saw a big advertisement about cruise next to Port Terminal.
This was the big ship Shenny stay overnight.

Shenny, mommy and popo (mommy's mommy) slept in this cabin. Although the cabin was small but quite cosy.

Above was one of live performances we watched on board.
Haha..an eye opener for Shenny and her cousins too.
Shenny and her cousins were having fun on a dancing floor when singers had their break

Adventure in Paris 2010

This is backdated post.

Both mommy and Shenny were excited that finally papa agreed to bring us to adventure in Paris for a few days(3D2N) during our trip to visit her grandmother in The Netherlands (Holland).

We took a fast train (bullet train) to Paris from Rotterdam.  The train took us directly to Paris in 2.5 hours only.   It was a smooth and comfortable train ride.  Shenny could do her drawings and light reading on the train too.

Shenny pretended to read the newspaper while waiting for the train.  The newspaper was written in Dutch.

This is a cafeteria in the train.

Papa had booked us to stay in a hotel next to a metro station at Paris De Est.  That was for our convenience in travelling.
The hotel which we stayed was Hotel Amiot.  We asked for a big bed but the receptionist was kind enough give us a big bed  plus an extra single bed (without extra charge).  So, all of us had ample spaces to stretch our legs and arms after a whole day of walking.
We also had free breakfast every morning in the hotel.  Therefore, we had no worry to ponder what to eat and where to buy after woke up.

This was the first time for both Shenny and mommy to explore Paris while papa was the second time.  Although Papa had visited Paris 10 years ago but he still could remember very well how to navigate us around.  According to him, Paris did not have much change.

Both Shenny and mommy followed papa to explore Paris by taking their metro system.  The metro system in Paris was well-structured, though a bit complicated, but we could reach most of our destinations easily and in a very short period of time.  We could see all walks of life in the train too.  It was a great experience for us.

Shenny was waiting for the train.
Shenny was in the metro train.

These were some pictures we took while in Paris:

Eiffel Tower
We took an elevator to 2nd level of Eiffel Tower to view Paris city.

Day time view from Eiffel Tower

Nightview from Eiffel Tower

Nightview of Eiffel Tower

Notre-Dame
We climbed up thousands steps to the roof top of Notre-Dame to see BIG BELL.

We had a fantastic view of whole Paris at Notre Dame.
Arc de Triomphe
We climbed 284 steps to the roof top of the Arc de Triomphe.  Again, we had supert view of the whole Paris city.

We saw two rainbows appeared at each side of La Basillique du Sacre-Coeur (famous white church on a hill).  Some tourists includes us at top of Arc de Triomphe cheered happily when this happened.  We thought this was a miracle.

I'Obelisque
A gift from Eqype to France.  But Shenny thought this was a Giant Pencil.

Busy street at the Arc of Triomph at night.  The Avenue des Champs Elysees ( 名牌街)is at both sides of the Arc of Triomphe.

Passage Verdeau

Both Shenny and mommy wish that papa will bring us to visit Paris again because 3D2N trip is too short for us.
