Birthday Card to Teacher Kelly 2014

This was a very back dated post.  Mommy would like to make a log in Shenny's blog.

Teacher Kelly's birthday was in August and that was her school exam period.  However, Shenny managed to squish some free time to design a simple birthday card for her.

Father Day 2013

Shenny would like to celebrate the Father Day in a restaurant instead at home.  Mommy then decided to have a simple dinner at a Japanese restaurant nearby.
Shenny jokingly told her father: "We celebrate Father Day at restaurant but papa still needs to pay. hehehe.."

For this year, Shenny made two Father Day greeting cards and a handmade fan for her father.

1st Greeting card is quite humorous and made at home.

2nd Greeting card was made at her English tuition class.

A handmade fan with papa's face was made at her Art class.

Her Rotooli

This is another back-dated post. Shenny did this in late January, 2013.

The Rotooli is a Paper Craft.  You may view the full process how it was made from this link.

The original price for this craft thingy is not cheap but mommy bought it during sale. The price is at 50% less than the original price.

Shenny enjoyed the process to make it.

Her Jewellery Tree

Last Saturday (3/3/2012), Shenny complained to mommy that she had not got chance to do art and craft at home for a very long time already.  Instead of going out, she requested to stay at home on Saturday afternoon.

Shenny wanted to work on jewellery tree, the Christmas present she received last year (<<click here>>).  That reminded mommy of the mission that need to be completed before next Christmas come.  Mommy immediately granted Shenny's request.

For this mission, it took two days to complete.  Shenny worked rather slow this time.  Mommy had to lend some hand for her, else it might take even longer.

Here are some shots of work progress:

First step, Shenny chose to paint pink and red colour on each wooden tree model.

Second step, she slot the two wooden model across each other to form a tree.
Third step, Shenny painted some spots on wooden model to look like leaves and made some spot on tree trunk too.
Fourth step, Shenny applied super-glue on each spot, so that she could stick twinkling/sparkling stuff to design the tree.  To do all these, Shenny worked a bit slow, that's why mommy came to help.
Finally, Shenny posed with her jewellery tree.
Jewellery tree hung with some Shenny's hand accessories.

Her 2011 Christmas Presents

This is a very backdated post.

During our last year visit to The Netherlands, Shenny had received few Christmas presents from her grandmother, uncle (Shuk Shuk) and aunties.

Below are the presents she got:

This is the present from her grandma: A little smurf house and some accessories.
Her youngest uncle (shuk shuk) bought her a simple robot hamster which can move forward or backward when hit things, talk and sleep when it is tired.  Shenny immediately pronounced her dream had come true as she finally got a pet.  She didn't mind her pet is a robot.
Her eldest aunty (papa's sister) gave her a full tea-set with Hello Kitty printed on it.  She was glad that she could use this to serve her children (her soft toys) in proper ways.

Aunty Yee Wah (papa's cousin) had bought her a set of DIY jewellery box.

Aunty Yee Ping (papa's cousin) had bought her a DIY jewellery tree.
Shenny loves to do art & craft, she was looking forward to make her hand dirty to complete the above mission, so that she could keep her jewelleries.
Regrettly to say that, the above mission is just completed by 50% only.

Make a Castle

Actually, Shenny had been looking forward to do art and craft at home few weeks ago.  Whenever we went out for shopping during weekends, she would ask us to go home quick, so that she could do some art and craft at home.  However, always we ended up spend the whole day outside.
And, it was long weekends last week (because of labour day, both mommy and papa had Monday off) and finally we could spend one whole day just stay at home.

Shenny woke up very early on Monday even it was public holiday.  Mommy thought to sleep a bit longer and asked her to get back to bed, but she refused.  She would like to stay alone at living room.  So, mommy had no choice, had to wake up to prepare breakfast for her.  After having breakfast and shower, she requested mommy to give her one box and eight toilet rolls.  She told mommy that she would like to make a castle.  She learnt that from "Mr Maker" from one of children program on tv.  So, without much help from mommy, Shenny prepared rest of necessary stuff eg, lay newspaper on coffee table, take out scissor, glue and paint.

Here are some photos taken when Shenny did her art and craft.

Somehow, it was difficult to put color on the box.
Although the castle looks dirty cum ugly, but Shenny felt very satisfied to be able to make a castle for herself.

A Heartfelt Thanks Drawing

Shenny made this heartfelt drawing for her beloved music teacher, Kelly, after two years learning music from her.

Shenny will move on to her real piano lesson next month onwards. And her new coaching teacher will be different.

Shenny's teacher, Kelly was really surprise and asked mommy whether I helped her to come out idea in drawing. Mommy's answer was "No". This drawing was from her own imagination. The only papa hinted Shenny was that she needed to draw something that related to her teacher.

Below is the explanation of Shenny of her picture (which carries some stories).
" My music techer kelly and her hasband were married and they lived in a castle. Everyday, the castle will have rainbow to say "good morning", "good afternoon" and "good night". The castle is very special because it is golden.

And they grow flowers, so that they could see butterflies. But there are not any butterfly there because they have gone with their honey. "

Valentine Day = Chocolate Day ?

On the Valentine Day, Shenny happily passed mommy her handmade weaving paper heart shape envelop from school at car.
There were two chocolates inside the envelop. She asked mommy to pick one of chocolates and eat it. Mommy did as was told.  The other chocolate would be given to papa later.

At home, mommy asked Shenny this question:

Mommy: Do you know what is Valentine Day?
Shenny: It is chocolate day.
Mommy: Why?
Shenny: Because you get to eat chocolate on that day.
Mommy: Oh..how do you feel after eating chocolate?
Shenny: ...feel sweet and happy. (grin at mommy)

Mommy reckon this is a very good answer and didn't further elaborate to her about the "real" meaning of Valentine Day.  Let her to think it this way till she realizes herself one day.
Haha..I guess it is good to let her imagination flow for time-being, I think.

What do you think?

CNY Crafty Work

As usual, Shenny would make some arts and craft related to CNY at her kindy and art's class before CNY.

At art class, Shenny made a big Ang Pow pocket and a pink lantern.

Her art teacher gave her a ready cut red paper and teach her how to fold and glue it to make a big pocket.
Then, she could draw, colour and decorate the pocket as she likes.

She wanted this for our family only.

At home, her papa suggested Shenny to make one big Ang Pow pocket for her grandmother and grandfather since we would celebrate CNY there. Shenny agreed with papa's suggestion.

Luckily, mommy had some red paper at home, so Shenny happily drew, cut and glue to make the Ang Pow pocket.

As for the chinese writing, Shenny was not so good at it. She asked mommy wrote on a piece of paper and she followed the strokes.

Shenny said "This big Ang Pow pocket is for grandmother's whole family".
Therefore she drew lots of people including a baby (her little cousin, Calvin).
Both her grandmother (in pink dress) and grandfather stood right in front.

As the art work from  her kindy, her teacher gave all children two ready made CNY cards, and had them to do a bit of coloring, sticking and writing on the cards themselves.

Mommy thought this is too simple for 6 year old children and much less creative compare to her enrichment art class.

Wishing all a Happy and Prosperous Chinese New Year !!!

Drawings (5)

It had been awhile mommy did not log Shenny's drawings in her blog.

This time mommy would like to post some of Shenny's drawings for birthday, X'mas and Chinese New Year.

Birthday:

(13/1/2011)
Since Josiah is a boy, Shenny did not write "I Love You" in the card because she felt embarrased to do it.  Instead, she drew a heart shape.
Josiah was there to fight with Ben10 monster.
Six candles.means her friend turned to 6th year old.

(2/1/2011)
Six balloons flying means her friend has turned to 6th year old.
Leanne was dancing in the picture.

(16/10/2010)
All girls play balloon together.

Chinese New Year:

(8/1/2011)
This is for her grandmother in Holland.
The drawing is done at reverse side of the greeting card.
Since the coming year is rabbit year, so Shenny drew two big rabbits there.

X'mas:
(21/12/2010)
This is for her music teacher, Kelly.
Santa was in a sleigh, pulled by three colourful reindeers, flying across the sky.
Teacher Kelly was there singing.
Santa dropped a present into chimney for her teacher.
The house was a rainbow house.

Of Papa's Birthday @ 2010

Shenny made a foldable birthday card for her Papa this year.  Mommy didn't help much though.

It was a real surprise to her Papa.  Mommy believed this is the most precious one for his birthday presents so far he ever received from his little one.
(Hehe, Shenny chose to buy a bottle of papa's favourite hair gel continuously for last two years as his birthday presents.  She just tried to act funny to her papa during that time.)

Before Shenny wrote anything on the card, mommy reminded her that she could only put a positive word in the card. So, wishes were written on her own thought.

Below are the meaning of her wishes:
* have long live - so that Shenny could see her Papa all the time
* have Good health - so that Papa can not be tired when he is at work in his office
* have a lot of muscle - so that Papa can use one hand to carry Shenny and also can carry his mother
* have a Good time - so that Papa can be happy always

Of all the birthday cakes Shenny saw in the bakery shop, she chose the chocolate cake with white icing and many little hearts for her Papa.
