Farm In The City

After reading a few bloggers' recommendation of the place, finally, Shenny got a chance to visit the Farm In The City last Sunday (28 July 2013).  Truly the place is quite a fun and learning place for kids in the city to visit although the entrance fee is quite dearly.
Shenny was excited to visit the place because she had opportunity to see, feed and touch animals.

And here is the video clip Shenny fed the birds on her palm.  She was extremely excited because there were so many birds stand on her palm to eat grains.  She felt like birds give her palm massaging.

Ukulele Sunshine Group at The Actors Studio, Taman Tun Dr Ismail - Part 1

A klpac Orchestra's Summer Concert is coming up on 3 Aug 2013 @ 8.30pm (Saturday) and 4 Aug 2013 @ 4pm (Sunday) at The Actor Studio in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail.

Shenny and her Ukulele Sunshine Group (kids & adult) are invited to perform as pre-concert event for the concert.  They will perform around 7.45 - 8.15pm on Saturday and 3.15 - 3.45pm on Sunday at the lobby.  Their performance is open for everyone to watch.

Shenny's 8th Birthday

Shenny celebrated her eight year old birthday at home two weeks ago.
She invited eight friends and her three favorite teachers (Ukulele, Piano and Art) to her birthday party.
The following were some activities done in the party:
 
First, Shenny and her bestie Lyn Xuan sang A Thousand Years with piano accompanied by Shenny's piano teacher (Nicole Yap).  A Thousand Year song was initially introduced by Lyn Xuan.  Shenny found the song nice and gradually loved the song too.


Second, Shenny and her piano teacher played duet Beauty and The Beast.  All the guests  surrounded at piano side to listen to this beautiful piece.


Third, Shenny and her bestie Lyn Xuan entertain the crowd by singing A Thousand Years again while Lyn Xuan tried to play the song with ukulele.


Then, they had sometimes to play ukuleles (only those friends know ukulele joined the performance):

'..want to give...but I like..."

This is an extremely backdated post.  It was drafted by mommy three years ago in March, 2010. At that time, Shenny was 4 year old.  Mommy forgot to publish it in the blog.

Here is the story:

Shenny had her after school tea with mommy in Pak Li Restaurant today. While waiting for food to be served, Shenny took out a jelly from her pocket to show mommy. She happily told mommy that she got this jelly from her teacher and proudly added that she was the only one get this in the class. Mommy asked her why. She told mommy she was very behave in the class today.

After our tea, we went to shop some fruits in the Ong Tai Kim Supermarket. While mommy was choosing the fruit, another mommy with a little girl on hand also came to choose the fruit.
Shenny saw the girl cute and told mommy in soft voice, "I want to give this jelly to the little girl". Mommy told her gotta ask the little girl's mommy first, because some mommy does not want their children to accept things from a stranger. But Shenny didn't ask and she didn't give the jelly to the girl.

Afer a while, we bounced into the little girl again, mommy told shenny, if you really want to give the girl your jelly, go ahead. Shenny then answered mommy, I really want to give her my jelly but I like my jelly.. Ah...what kind of answer is this?

Father Day 2013

Shenny would like to celebrate the Father Day in a restaurant instead at home.  Mommy then decided to have a simple dinner at a Japanese restaurant nearby. 
Shenny jokingly told her father: "We celebrate Father Day at restaurant but papa still needs to pay. hehehe.."

For this year, Shenny made two Father Day greeting cards and a handmade fan for her father.

1st Greeting card is quite humorous and made at home.

2nd Greeting card was made at her English tuition class.

A handmade fan with papa's face was made at her Art class.

Shenny and her Ukulele Sunshine Kids have a mission to achieve during this school holiday.  They are going to perform in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah on 1 June 2013.

Glad that Shenny's papa will be joining us for this round. 

As Special Guest

Shenny was invited as special guest to perform at a graduation concert organized by Ideal Music on 18 April 2013.

She performed two songs using ukulele as described below: 

1) El Condor Pasa



2)You Are My Sunshine:


(P.S. There was a different between these two songs. 
The difference was that Shenny had performed "You Are My Sunshine" for numerous times on stage while "El Condor Pasa" is the FIRST time. 
Though there was a slight hiccup at "El Condor Pasa", but mommy felt very proud of her attempt.  Also, she spent less than 3 days to practice the song.)

Ballet Rehearsal (2013)

This is a back-dated post again.

As usual, before the actual Ballet exam, mommy and papa were invited to sit in to watch Shenny's Ballet Pre-exam performance.  Her actual exam would fall on two weeks later.

For this year, the examiner would assess students based on group (4 and 2 persons) and individual performance.
