A Sorry Card

Shenny wrote this 'Sorry Card' for her best friend, Leanne.

Shenny had a little clash with Leanne in school two days ago.
After mommy's advice, she decided to forgive her friend.
From her personality, she wants to make up and say sorry and come out with this kind of sorry card.

After she gave the card to her friend, her friend gave her back some stickers and they are best friend again.
Mommy found this was quite funny and yet touching for children at this age.  Ha..don't you think so?

Heart & Soul Charity Concert 2011

Shenny, papa and mommy were invited to attend Heart & Soul Charity Concert 2011 by her 1st music teacher, Kelly.  She is a member of the Choir of the Philharmonic Society of Selangor.
In the heart & soul's leaflet, it said...the concert will tug at our heart strings and uplift our soul, with its toe-tapping, head bouncing, smile inducing musical line-up featuring favourites from the Bee Gees, Beatles, Michael Jackson and Enya.
As teacher Kelly would be performed in the concert plus it was for charity, as a sign to support both, papa and mommy decided to bring Shenny to watch the concert on 23 July 2011.

The concert was held in Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre(KLPAC).
Both papa and mommy decided to have dinner at the japanese restaurant (next to a lake) opposite KLPAC building before concert began.
The restaurant not only serves japanese food, it also serves western and asian food.  After trying the food, mommy would not give a big 'hoo-haa' about the food served. Papa thought the food is quite pricey due to its location and beautiful scenary.  Definitely, we love the restaurant's surroundings.
We ordered one japanese bento set, fried meehoon and fried thai rice.

Shenny really enjoyed the concert, mommy could see her move her head and body gracefully following music rhythm.  She even sang some of songs softly.

After the concert, Shenny could not wait to meet teacher Kelly to show her pink dress.

Shenny posed with her beautiful teacher Kelly.

Here are a list of some songs performed in the concert:

Beatles in Revue (medley)

We Are the World (Michael Jackson)

On HER 6th birthday

This is backdated post.
Mommy and papa decided to have a very simple birthday celebration on Shenny's actual birthday.  Shenny was given a chance to choose her own birthday cake at a bakery nearby.

*** Do you see any similarity?

Actually, Shenny had already had her birthday celebration few days earlier before her actual birthday. This time, it was bigger one compared to last year.
Since her party was held in KFC, mommy and papa allowed Shenny to invite 15 friends this time.  As some of her friends brought along their brothers and sisters, so the total of children came to party was 20 persons.  And, Shenny also invited her two lovely music teachers.
In fact, mommy was a bit panic as this was the first time mommy learn to handle such a big crowd (>40 persons).  Luckily, the whole party events went smoothly as plan.

Shenny happily greeted her piano teacher to her party.

Shenny was very excited to receive so many presents for the first time. Everything in the picture (except the old keyboard) were her birthday present, includes piano and beautiful pinky satin dress (given by her 1st music teacher, Kelly) (below).

Funny Chat (Part 7)

Funny 1:
Mommy asked Shenny about her ambitions during our lunch yesterday.
Shenny: "I have three"
Mommy:"Three? I know one of it must be a kindergarten's teacher, right?"
Shenny: "Yes, one is teacher, two is music teacher, three is doctor"
Mommy: "Ah...doctor. Why'd you want to be a doctor?"
Shenny laughed and said: "It's a secret, not suppose to tell."
Mommy:"Oh..really. Tell us is ok!"
(Both papa and mommy were smiling at her)
Shenny then giggly answered: "To see people's Buttock"
(Papa and mommy laughed out loud to hear her reason.)

Funny 2:
Mommy prepared shredded potato "pancake", fried fish fillet, fried zucchini with oyster sauce and some raw zucchini to dip with thousand islands mayonnaise for lunch.
When food was ready and served on the dining table, mommy asked Shenny and papa to come to eat.
Shenny was the first one to rush to the dining table.  Her first expression to see the food was "I can't believe my eyes" and purposely opened her eyes widely to stare at food (see this photo).
This was Shenny's funny expression.

Funny 3:
Mommy was tired and laid on sofa to rest while Shenny did art and craft on her own.  Then, she came to ask mommy for help.
Mommy was very tired and lazy to get up from sofa, and refused to help.  Then, she was upset.
When mommy woke up and found a message written on her white board.  Funny was that she even jotted down the time she asked for help (3.10).

Early Birthday Surprise

This is a big surprise cum early birthday present for little Shenny.

Papa and mommy plus Shenny went to visit a piano shop with Shenny's piano teacher early June, out of all pianos Shenny tried out, she told papa and mommy that she would like to have "this" model if she got to have one.
She didn't like rest of pianos, because she felt their keys are not hard enough plus felt like playing keyboard.  She even gave us reason, since she already had a keyboard at home, she didn't want to have another piano feel like keyboard at home.  She was very determine with her choice.
Even, her piano teacher was amazed with her decision because not many of her students do that especially at her age. Normally, those students would let their parents to decide which piano to buy home.

The piano that Shenny chose was for professional pianist and also the price is not within papa's budget.  So how? Mommy asked papa, what should he decide now?  He told me, if he was to buy the piano, he would consider Shenny's decision as priority.

After pondering for a few days plus her teacher agreed to get us further discount, papa and mommy secretly decided to order this piano as her birthday present, without telling Shenny. The piano got to deliver one week before (25/6/2011) Shenny turns to 6 year old.

Here is the video clip of her reaction to see her chosen piano at home.

In fact, the sound of piano is a bit out, it still needs some tuning after delivery. The person to help tuning is only available after 3 weeks of delivery. However, Shenny still could not wait to play some songs on her new piano.

Here are two songs she tried first:

A BIG Birthday Treat

It had been a month long mommy didn't have time to post any new blog. In fact, this is a backdated post too. It happened in end of April 2011.

Mommy's 2nd brother (Shenny's uncle) invited our family to join 2 day 1 night Star Cruise in Penang on his birthday.  Although Shenny had had some cruise experiences before (especially when she was in The Netherlands) but this was her first time to stay a night on a cruise.  She was especially excited about it.  Thanks for her uncle's generous invitation.
In order to join the cruise, Shenny and mommy took a flight to hometown.  Papa didn't follow along because it was a short notice.
For details, mommy thought just let photos tell it better.

Shenny and mommy took Putera LRT to KL Central.
Shenny concentrated in writing while on our way to airport by KLIA Express Train.

We saw a big advertisement about cruise next to Port Terminal.
This was the big ship Shenny stay overnight.

Shenny, mommy and popo (mommy's mommy) slept in this cabin. Although the cabin was small but quite cosy.

Above was one of live performances we watched on board.
Haha..an eye opener for Shenny and her cousins too.

Ballet Rehearsal (2011)

Shenny recently had her ballet exam.  Before actual exam, her ballet school ran a pre-exam and all parents were invited to sit in but not the actual exam.
Both papa and mommy realized that it was not easy for a kid at 6 year old to remember so many steps to make their dance success.  Apart felt proud with our girl, Shenny and also appreciated efforts her teacher had put in to make the whole process a success.

One of requirements to attend the exam was that student had to tie their hair into buns with hair net.  Since Shenny's hair was rather short and mommy was not expert to tie hair, therefore, mommy had to ask her ballet teacher to help.  Her teacher had to use a lot of hair gel and spray to make her hair stick nicely.

Some photos taken before exam.

Below were some video clips taken on actual exam day which Shenny's teacher asked them to do some warm up dance and that was clear because mommy videod it with camera.  While for the imaginative sailor dances were taken with papa's handphone during pre-exam session, therefore, not so clear.

Make a Castle

Actually, Shenny had been looking forward to do art and craft at home few weeks ago.  Whenever we went out for shopping during weekends, she would ask us to go home quick, so that she could do some art and craft at home.  However, always we ended up spend the whole day outside.
And, it was long weekends last week (because of labour day, both mommy and papa had Monday off) and finally we could spend one whole day just stay at home.

Shenny woke up very early on Monday even it was public holiday.  Mommy thought to sleep a bit longer and asked her to get back to bed, but she refused.  She would like to stay alone at living room.  So, mommy had no choice, had to wake up to prepare breakfast for her.  After having breakfast and shower, she requested mommy to give her one box and eight toilet rolls.  She told mommy that she would like to make a castle.  She learnt that from "Mr Maker" from one of children program on tv.  So, without much help from mommy, Shenny prepared rest of necessary stuff eg, lay newspaper on coffee table, take out scissor, glue and paint.

Here are some photos taken when Shenny did her art and craft.

Somehow, it was difficult to put color on the box.
Although the castle looks dirty cum ugly, but Shenny felt very satisfied to be able to make a castle for herself.
